Sterile Processing Technician Curriculum Developer

Per the NFA Contract, Article 10, TMCC is announcing to all eligible employees that a need exists for a Sterile Processing Technician Curriculum Developer.

Description

The Sterile Processing Technician Curriculum Developer will develop the course materials, assignments, assessments and the course Canvas site for the Sterile Processing Technician Skills Certificate, which includes courses SRGT 101 Introduction to Sterile Processing, SRGT 111 Sterile Processing, and SRGT 112 Sterile Processing Clinical.

Scope of Work

The curriculum developer position serves during the academic term 2021–2022, for the Spring 2022 semester. The assignment will cover the 88 contract days of the semester consisting of one hour per week for the semester, approximately 15 hours total. This additional assignment is not automatically renewed annually.

Responsibilities and Deliverables

  1. Develop the course materials, assignments, and assessments for the program courses per the established Course Objectives, Learning Outcomes and Learning Measures.
  2. Develop the Canvas site for the program instruction.
  3. Perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with standards, mission and goals of Truckee Meadows Community College.
  4. Maintain sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and disabilities of community college students.
  5. Comply with published college policies and procedures.
  6. Other duties as assigned by the Dean.

Accountability

At the end of the semester, the curriculum developer will provide a written report that details progress and activities to the Dean. The report will describe progress on each deliverable.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Current TMCC employee, full-time or part-time.
  • Preferred: One-year teaching experience.
  • Preferred: Experience in Surgical Technology and/or Sterile Processing in a professional setting.

Compensation

This assignment is an $840 stipend. This additional assignment is supported by a set dollar amount that cannot be directed towards release time. Paying a stipend is the only reasonable compensation.

Reports To

The Life Sciences, Allied Health & Public Safety Division Dean.

Note: Administrative faculty must include a documented plan for separation of the additional assignment work from regular work time.
