Nursing Graduation Manager

Per the NFA Contract, Article 10, TMCC is announcing to all eligible employees that a need exists for Nursing Graduation Manager Additional Assignment.

Description

The Nursing Graduation Manager will coordinate and oversee 4th-semester student mentoring, remediation, testing and re-testing, practice skills work, and follow-up in NURS 274 practicum to ensure the best possible student outcomes in the Maxine S. Jacobs Nursing Program.  

Scope of Work

The Nursing Graduation Manager will serve during the academic term 2021–2022, for the Spring 2022 Semester. The assignment will cover the 88 contract days of the semester consisting of a two-credit assignment.  This additional assignment is not automatically renewed annually.

Responsibilities and Deliverables

  1. Assist the 4th-semester students in evaluating their deficiencies and implementing a strategic plan for successfully completing the TMCC Nursing program on time and passing the NCLEX exam.
  2. Serve as mentor for the NURS 274 practicum students.
  3. Prepare and assess student gains on remediation lessons and practice skills work in their final semester of the Nursing Program.
  4. Coordinate and evaluate student practice tests and re-tests towards the mastery levels needed to pass the NCLEX and obtain licensure.
  5. Perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with standards, mission and goals of Truckee Meadows Community College.
  6. Maintain sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and disabilities of community college students.
  7. Comply with published college policies and procedures.
  8. Other duties as assigned by the Program Director or Dean.

Accountability

The Nursing Graduation Manager will regularly update NURS 274 student progress to the Director of Nursing.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Current full-time Nursing faculty, with at least one year experience in the TMCC Nursing Program.
  • Experience teaching NURS 274 practicum

Compensation

This assignment is an overload or release for two credits, for achieving the duties listed above, which will take an estimated 4 hours per week, or a total of approximately 60 hours over the semester.

Reports To

The Director of Nursing and the Life Sciences, Allied Health and Public Safety Division Dean.

Interested employees will submit a brief letter of interest describing the course/section they are teaching no later than 5 p.m. on Feb. 7, 2022

Selection Process

The Director of Nursing or the Dean will notify applicants of the hiring decision on or before Feb. 8, 2022.
