Music Recording Technologies Curriculum Developers

Per the NFA Contract, Article 9, TMCC is announcing to all eligible Academic and Administrative faculty that a need exists for a Music Recording Technologies Curriculum Developers.

Description

Two co-creators will develop curriculum for four new music recording courses and a recording studio teaching lab. For the new music recording classes, the co-creators will develop a syllabus, course materials, assignments, assessments and the course Canvas sites for the sequence of four 3-credit courses: MUS 231 Recording Technology I, MUS 232 Recording Technology II, MUS 239 Virtual Studio Technology I, and MUS 240 Virtual Studio Technology II. Additionally, the lead co-creator will help set-up a recording studio teaching lab in SIER 215 to be used for the classes.

Scope of Work

Two co-creators will develop curriculum for four new music recording courses and a recording studio teaching lab. For the new music recording classes, the co-creators will develop a syllabus, course materials, assignments, assessments and the course Canvas sites for the sequence of four 3-credit courses: MUS 231 Recording Technology I, MUS 232 Recording Technology II, MUS 239 Virtual Studio Technology I, and MUS 240 Virtual Studio Technology II. Additionally, the lead co-creator will help set-up a recording studio teaching lab in SIER 215 to be used for the classes.

Responsibilities and Deliverables

  1. Develop the course syllabus, materials, assignments, projects, and assessments for MUS 231, MUS 232, MUS 239, and MUS 240, per the established Course Description, Objectives, Learning Outcomes and Learning Measures.
  2. Develop the Canvas shells for the four courses.
  3. Set up a working recording studio teaching lab with TMCC supplied equipment in SIER 215, to be used for the instruction of the new MUS classes.
  4. Perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with standards, mission and goals of Truckee Meadows Community College.
  5. Maintain sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and disabilities of community college students.
  6. Comply with published college policies and procedures.
  7. Other duties as assigned by the Dean or Chair.

Qualifications

The lead co-creator, who has the added responsibility of setting up the recording studio lab, should have a technical studio background in music and experience working in a local recording studio. The second co-creator should be current TMCC faculty with experience teaching music and curriculum development.

Compensation

Lead co-creator: 6 credits release or stipend. Second co-creator: 3 credits release or stipend (9 credits total).

Reports to

Dean of Liberal Arts and Chair of Visual and Performing Arts.

Application Process

Interested faculty will submit a letter of interest describing special qualifications and background information no later than May 5, 2023.

The letter should be addressed to Natalie Russell, Dean of Liberal Arts.

Note: Administrative faculty must include a documented plan for separation of the additional assignment work from regular work time.

Selection Process

The Dean will notify applicants of the hiring decision on or before May 6, 2023.
