Engineering Curriculum Developer

Per the NFA Contract, Article 9, TMCC is announcing to all eligible Academic and Administrative faculty that a need exists for an Engineering Curriculum Developer.

Description

The Engineering Curriculum Developer will develop course materials, prototypes, labs, assignments, assessments and set up lab to accommodate new 3D printer.

Scope of Work

This is an assignment requiring additional work days/hours outside of regular contract days. The position will entail approximately 68 hours of work outside of contract days. This assignment is not automatically renewed annually.

Responsibilities and Deliverables

  1. Develop prototype of LEGO wheeled robot for use in class. Build LEGO wheeled robots.
  2. Revise ENGR 100 robotics lab write-up to align with new LEGO programming platform.
  3. Revise ENGR 100 robotics lecture slides to align with new LEGO programming platform.
  4. Assemble updated hovercraft kits.
  5. Install 3D printers and create new 3D Printer lab and lecture materials.

Qualifications

Current TMCC faculty (teaching or administrative). One-year experience teaching in ENGR 100. Experience with curriculum development.

Compensation

3 credits release or stipend.

Reports to

Dean of Math and Physical Sciences Division.

Interested faculty will submit a letter of interest describing special qualifications and background information no later than 5 p.m. on May 8, 2023.

The letter should be addressed to Anne Flesher, Math and Physical Sciences Dean. NOTE: Administrative faculty must include a documented plan for separation of the additional assignment work from regular work time.

The Dean will notify applicants of the hiring decision on or before May 12, 2023.
