ECE Certificate Outreach Specialist

Per the NFA Contract, Article 9, TMCC is announcing to all eligible Academic and Administrative faculty that a need exists for a/an ECE Certificate Outreach Specialist.

Description

A grant has been secured to assist students with tuition and costs associated with training in the Early Childhood Education industry to reduce or alleviate the workforce shortage for skilled childcare providers. Support is needed during the 2023-2024 academic year to assist in recruitment, support and participation efforts in the grant and ECE programs.

Scope of Work

The assignment will begin May 4, 2023 and will end May 30, 2024; approximately 210 work hours/year. This additional assignment is not automatically renewed annually.

Responsibilities and Deliverables

The ECE Certificate Outreach Specialist will be responsible for community outreach to share about the grant opportunity and recruit new students to the Early Childhood Educator program, recruiting and supporting current ECE students, screening grant applicants for eligibility and participation in program cohorts, and the collection and reporting of student data to grant stakeholders.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will meet the following criteria:

  • Current full or part-time TMCC faculty (teaching or administrative).
  • One year of full-time teaching experience or 2 years of part-time teaching experience in Early Childhood Education or other closely related disciplines.

Compensation

3 credits of reassigned time per semester or monetary equivalent. (Total 6 per year).

Interested faculty will submit a letter of interest describing special qualifications and background information no later than 5 p.m. on May 2, 2023.

The letter should be addressed to Amy Williams, Dean of Business and Social Sciences.

Note: Administrative faculty must include a documented plan for separation of the additional assignment work from regular work time.
