CTEL Coordinator

Per the NFA Contract, Article 9, TMCC is announcing to all eligible Academic and Administrative faculty that a need exists for a/an CTEL (Career and Technical Education Leadership) Coordinator.

Description

The CTEL Coordinator will (1) oversee the curriculum, course offerings, and faculty involved with the CTEL Program, (2) recruit and orient part-time CTEL faculty, and (3) coordinate all CTEL program activities.

Scope of Work

The coordinator position serves during the academic term 2024-2025. The assignment will cover the 172 contract days of the academic year. This additional assignment is not automatically renewed annually.

Responsibilities and Deliverables

  1. Assist with the development and oversight of the budget of the program.
  2. Assist with the development and oversight of procedures for admission to the program.
  3. Select, supervise, and evaluate such number of qualified instructors as is necessary to carry out the program.
  4. Arrange adequate educational facilities for training.
  5. Develop written policies for admission to, continuance in, dismissal and withdrawal from the program.
  6. Ongoing curriculum development.
  7. Ongoing development of resources for students.
  8. Assist with new program outreach (catalog, website, social media, PR, etc.)
  9. Primary point-of-contact for student inquiries.
  10. Liaison with the Nevada Department of Education and WCSD for teacher licensing requirements.
  11. Determination of program outcomes, with measurable determinants of student success.
  12. Negotiate with existing TMCC services, faculty and staff to ensure operations of the CTEL program.
  13. Perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with standards, mission and goals of Truckee Meadows Community College.
  14. Maintain sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and disabilities of community college students.
  15. Comply with published college policies and procedures.
  16. Other duties as assigned by the Dean.

Qualifications

The CTEL Coordinator must have a Master’s Degree preferably in Career and Technical Education. Must have at least five years teaching experience. Needs to have strong organizational skills, teaching ability, interpersonal and interprofessional communication skills, highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Canvas, and web-based learning.

Compensation

This assignment is a 3-credit release or stipend for the Fall and Spring Semester.

Reports to

Julie Ellsworth, Dean of Life Sciences, Allied Health and Public Safety Division.
