President: Julia Bledsoe
Julia Bledsoe is a Program Officer in Assessment and Planning. She enjoys working with faculty in her role on the CRC (Curriculum Review Committee) where she oversees the Curriculum Course and Program Inventory Management Software and the production of the College Catalog. "I am a 1999 Alumna of TMCC’s Culinary Program; I know firsthand how TMCC enriches students’ lives". Outside of work, Julia enjoys spending time with her family, she practices and teaches Yoga Therapy, caters private parties, and enjoys Reno/Tahoe’s rich variety of outdoor activities.
Classified Council President Duties: The TMCC Classified Council president will preside at all Classified Council meetings, call special meetings as they see necessary, serve as an ex-officio member of all committees, undertake all duties specifically or implied that are required of the office and represent Classified Council at all College functions or send a representative as necessary.
Vice President: Tina May
Tina first began at Truckee Meadows Community College as a student worker in the Tutoring and Learning Center. As she continued her education at TMCC, she worked for the Math and Biology Departments and was an IA for microbiology and organic chemistry. She earned her Associate of Science Degree from TMCC and then attended the University of Nevada, Reno where she earned her Bachelor's of Science in Biology. In October of 2017, Tina joined the Math Skills Center as the administrative assistant. With her previous experience in the Math Department as well as her background in science, she brings a host of knowledge to the Math Skills Center staff and the students they serve. In her free time, Tina loves to further her education and knowledge, and she also enjoys freehand embroidery.
Classified Council Vice President Duties: The TMCC Classified Council vice president will serve one year and automatically assume the position of the president in the second year, assist the president in the performance of their duties, act in place of the president in their absence, update area representation list and monitor attendance at classified meetings and be responsible for administering the Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year programs.
Secretary: Sarah Jacobsen
Sarah Jacobsen is the Administrative Assistant III in the Academic Support Center department. After completing her contract with the Army in 2016, Sarah and her husband moved to Reno, Nevada to attend school. Sarah started as a student employee at TMCC and eventually worked her way up to being the Administrative Assistant for the Academic Support Center department. Sarah enjoys going to the lake, staying active, and having a glass of wine or two at night.
Classified Council Secretary Duties: The TMCC Classified Council secretary shall keep an accurate record of the proceedings of all regular and special Classified Council meetings, keep a copy of all formal reports of the Classified Council officers and committees, maintain the official file of the Classified Council, and post minutes, agendas and notifications of meetings prior to the next meeting date.
Treasurer: Sarah Gill
Sarah Gill is the Executive Assistant to the Dean of Business and Social Sciences. She has been with TMCC since the Fall of 2016 and brings more than 13 years of experience working in higher education. She loves helping people achieve their educational goals! In her spare time, Sarah enjoys spending time with family boating and camping, taking motorcycle rides with her husband, playing with her two dogs, and watching her daughter play softball.
Classified Council Treasurer Duties: The TMCC Classified Council treasurer is responsible for all funds as per guidelines of the treasurer, maintaining an acceptable set of records showing all transactions and render a current financial statement of the Classified Council at each business meeting and at such other times as the president may direct.
Hospitality Officer: Teri McKinney
Teri is the Admin II for the English Department. She loves helping resolve issues for the students to help them reach their educational dreams. She has 3 sons and 4 grandchildren. Teri is the servant to several crazy dogs and a rescue squirrel “Hemie”. She decompresses by working in her vegetable and flower patio garden. Teri loves Truckee and Reno. She feels lucky to be able to live here and enjoy the beautiful area, she calls home. Teri enjoys hiking, biking, dirt bike riding and dancing at festivals. Teri and her son are cancer survivors and volunteer at The Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation. Teri’s passion is teaching dance and cheer to children and adults at her studio TNT & PDC Cheer & Dance. She has been teaching for over 25 years. Without the arts the world would be just black and white. Teri lives life to its fullest!
Classified Council Hospitality Officer Duties: The TMCC Classified Council hospitality officer shall send flowers, plants or cards to the TMCC staff and faculty as per the guidelines of the hospitality office, keep a record of activities for reporting procedures and order employee recognition plaques and trophies.
