Join TMCC for the World’s Biggest Day of Generosity
TMCC looks forward to participating in GivingTuesday again this year in support of our students. GivingTuesday is a global day of giving on Nov. 28 that falls just after Thanksgiving and provides awareness for important causes such as TMCC’s Student Emergency Resource Fund. This year, our goal is to raise $15,000 in support of TMCC students who are in tremendous need.
Since the start of the academic year, the Student Emergency Resource Fund received 30 urgent requests. Here are just a couple of examples of how the Fund has helped our students:
- A TMCC student-athlete commuting from Dayton desperately needed to pay for car engine repairs. Living in a single-parent household, he helps his mother with household expenses. He received $1,000 toward his engine repair and continues to attend classes while competing on the soccer team.
- Another student is going through a divorce and facing financial hardship. A single mom with five children, she returned to school and found a job as a student worker, but with her bills piling up she was behind on rent and a car payment. She asked for support to stay in school because she wants a better future for herself and her children.
Funds raised through Tuesday, Nov. 28 will provide much-needed financial assistance for students to persevere and finish their education.
Thank you for your support!
