Everyone knows that higher education can be expensive, but thanks to financial aid it doesn’t have to be. If applying for financial aid sounds about as fun as watching the grass grow, we have great news for you: TMCC’s Financial Aid, Scholarships and Student Employment Office is hosting a special in-person event that can get your FAFSA in order in no time!

The event, called Fastober, is meant to help you submit your FAFSA ASAP. Instead of trying to do it yourself, why not team up with our experts who can help you streamline the process to make it as painless as possible?

After all: what if you qualify for grants or scholarships? By filling out the FAFSA, you’ll discover opportunities that can support you as you pursue your certificate or college degree.

What’s so Great about FAFSA Anyway?

The FAFSA, which stands for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, is exactly what it sounds like: an application that costs you absolutely nothing to fill out and submit, and that is the first step toward finding what kinds of federal student aid for which you qualify. It also opens the door for other funding opportunities, which could be state grants, work-study programs and student loans.

So, if it’s free, why don’t more people take advantage of it? While there are several reasons we could list, it’s actually pretty simple: the application process can be complicated, especially if you haven’t filled it out before.

That’s why TMCC hosts at least two major workshops every year focused exclusively on completing your FAFSA application: our experts can help you through the complicated parts so you can be sure you’re submitting accurate information and making the most out of your time! The fall Fastober workshop is guaranteed to do exactly that.

Join Us for Fastober

Ready to submit your FAFSA for the 2022-2023 academic year? Join our Financial Aid experts for an efficient and information-filled workshop that is free and will leave you with a feeling of accomplishment knowing that you completed your FAFSA, and are all set for Fall 2022.

The in-person workshop will be hosted on Saturday, Oct. 9 on the Dandini Campus in Sierra Building. Starting at 8:30 a.m., participants can expect to walk through the process of getting their FSA ID, which is the first step to filling out your FAFSA. This part of the workshop will take roughly one hour.

The next workshop begins at 10 a.m., and it's the first of two FAFSA workshops in which our experts will lead you through the entire FAFSA application process, step by step. If you need assistance with your FSA ID, it is recommended that you attend the FSA ID workshop at 8:30 a.m. followed by the FAFSA walk-through workshop at 10 a.m. Otherwise, participants can also sign up for the 11:30 a.m. FAFSA workshop.
