Lab Fee: $40. All requirements must be completed before enrollment in the SRGT sequence is allowed. MANDATORY STEPS OF ENROLLMENT: Background check, Drug Test, HCP CPR card, Major Medical Insurance and Immunizations. Classes will be held at the Health Science Center. For more information, contact the SRGT office at 775-674-7657. Attendance mandatory on first day. Students enrolling in SRGT 110 must also enroll in SRGT 111 and SRGT 112. Enrollment requires department consent. In the event of public health restrictions or other emergencies, classes may need to be changed to Web-Live, Web, or Hybrid instruction modes. Description
The role and responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Technician will be discussed and demonstrated. Class time will consist of collecting the correct paperwork necessary for each hospital clinical site. Mandatory education on Blood Borne Pathogens, and HIPAA will be completed in this class. Students will also have some hands on experience with the role of a Sterile Processing Technician in the lab.
