Description:

Have you ever wanted to change the world? Work toward world peace? Fulfill your inner desire to help communities and widen your perspectives? Learn about the world through a meaningful cause? Experience the unimaginable? Tünde will reveal how she has done it all (although still working on world peace). She will share her ideas about sustainable volunteerism, global education, cultural exposure, and whether 20 camels for her hand in marriage is an insult or a compliment.

Presenter: Dr. Tünde Csepelyi

Tünde Csepelyi is an English Language (EL) teacher at Sparks High School. Originally from Hungary, Tünde earned her doctorate degree at the University of Nevada, Reno in Language, Literacy, and Culture. For more than two decades, she has been an EL educator in various settings: She has taught family literacy, secondary and post-secondary students, adult language learners, college students, and pre-service and in-service teachers. She has published numerous articles and presented nationally and internationally on topics related to non-native English language teachers, teaching multilevel classes, literacy, and various subjects in EL education. She also volunteers internationally to teach English and design curricula for diverse learners at non-profit organizations worldwide.
