Overview
The Basic Life Support Provider course covers adult and pediatric CPR, the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and the relief of a foreign-body airway obstruction. This course also includes instruction on two-rescuer scenarios and bag-valve-mask device.
Intended Audience
The Basic Life Support Provider course is a 4-hour course intended for healthcare providers. These healthcare providers may include (but are not limited to): physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician assistants, residents or fellows, medical or nursing assistants or students in training, aides, and other allied health personnel.
The course is a prerequisite for American Heart Association courses such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and BLS instructor courses. It is also a prerequisite for entrance into the Health Sciences programs at TMCC, as well as entrance into any clinical setting.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for the Basic Life Support Provider Course.
Course Fee
Course fee is $70 (plus textbook).

Cancellations
In rare cases, classes may be canceled due to very low enrollment or weather conditions. If this occurs, students will be notified and will have the option of attending another class or request a refund within two weeks of cancellation.
Refunds
Cancel more than three business days in advance of the class start date and you’ll receive a full refund minus a $10 cancellation fee. Cancel three working days or less and receive a 50% refund minus a $10 cancellation fee. Once class begins, however, refunds will not be given.
