Union Construction Trade Apprenticeship Curriculum Developer

Per the NFA Contract, Article 10, TMCC is announcing to all eligible Academic and Administrative faculty that a need exists for a Union Construction Trade Apprenticeship Curriculum Developer.

Description

A faculty member that is well versed with restructuring a program that includes the removal of appropriate courses and the realignment of existing certificates to stack upon each other and to align with the existing AAS associated with the Union Construction Trade Apprentices. In addition, the faculty member shall be familiar with all submission requirements associated with TMCC's Curriculum Review Committee as supervised by the Dean and/or Director of Technical Sciences.

Scope of Work

This is an assignment requiring additional work days/hours outside regular contract days. This assignment will begin May 27, 2022, and will end Dec. 2022. This additional assignment is not automatically renewed annually.

Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Familiarization of the existing course content, Skills Certificate(s), Certificate of Achievement, and Associate of Applied Science degrees.
  • Deactivate and rebuild appropriate courses.
  • Modify the existing Skills Certificate, Certificate of Achievement, and Associate Applied Science degree.
  • Create program and course outcomes that align with all union construction trade apprenticeship programs.
  • Submit all proposed changes to TMCC's Curriculum Review Committee.
  • Other duties agreed to with the Director and/or Dean.

Qualifications

The ideal candidates for this position will meet the following criteria:

  • Current TMCC Chair.
  • Well-versed with curriculum mapping.
  • Ten full-time years of teaching experience in a Career and Technical field.
  • Have experience with curriculum development.
  • Be familiar with building commissioning.

Compensation

Lump sum amount not to exceed $3,000.00

Reports To

This position reports to the Dean and/or Director of Applied Technologies.

Accountability

At the end of said assignment, the developer will provide a written report that details progress and activities to the Director and Division Dean.

Interested faculty will submit a letter of interest describing qualifications and background information as relevant to the responsibilities outlined above. The letter should be addressed to the Interim Dean of Applied Technologies and must be received in that office by 5 p.m. on May 27, 2022.

Selection Process

The Interim Dean of Applied Technologies will notify applicants of the hiring decision on or before May 27, 2022.
