Per the NFA Contract, Article 10, TMCC is announcing to all eligible Academic and Administrative faculty that a need exists for an Undergraduate Research Curriculum Developer.

The Undergraduate Research (UGR) Curriculum Developer will develop content, assignments, assessments, and labs for Course Based Undergraduate Research Experience (CUREs) and/or Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) for the SEAPHAGES, D2D, Bioinformatics or BioResearch programs or new CUREs or SUREs, that may be delivered in a traditional, online and/or hybrid format. The Nevada INBRE grant has positions for at least six UGR Curriculum Developers.
Scope of Work
This is an assignment requiring additional work days/hours outside regular contract days, including times as needed during fall, winter and spring to fulfill duties, at approximately 5 hrs per week or 100 hrs total. This assignment will begin November 1, 2020 and will end March 31, 2021.
Responsibilities and Deliverables
- Meet regularly with Undergraduate Research Coordinator.
- Develop content, assignments, exercises, protocols, instructional plan and assessments for CURE to be delivered in a traditional and online format.
- Incorporate course objectives and student learning outcomes into CURE.
- Review learning resource options for CURE.
- Coordinate with the Life Sciences Lab Coordinator.
- Recommend equipment and supplies needed to adequately provide instruction and assessments.
Qualifications
Experience in instruction, undergraduate research experience and curriculum development.
Compensation
Stipend of $3000. May be split between faculty.

NOTE: Administrative faculty must include a documented plan for separation of the additional assignment work from regular work time.
