Math 124 and 24 Curriculum Developer

Per the NFA Contract, Article 10, TMCC is announcing to all eligible Academic and Administrative faculty that a need exists for Math 124 and 24 Curriculum Developers (2 positions).

Description

The Curriculum Developers will work as a team to design and develop Math 124 and the corequisite support course Math 24.  The team will develop the teaching materials that can be used by both full-time and part-time faculty teaching Math 124 and/or Math 24.  The course(s) may be offered as a traditional online, web-live, hybrid or in-person in the future, and the course materials need to be available and usable for all modalities.  This work is designed to assist with department consistency in delivery of gateway and corequisite support curriculum. Curriculum development will take place during Summer 2022, with access to these materials available to faculty and students for Fall 2022.

Responsibilities and Deliverables

Develop Math 124 and Math 24 materials, including the course outline, the assignments, course assessments, online platform(s), sample syllabi, and any other relevant content using department learning outcomes as a guide. Ensure that the resources meet all course objectives and student learning outcomes.

Qualifications

Current full-time or part-time faculty teaching Math 126 and Math 26.

Compensation

These additional assignments are supported by a set dollar amount from the ECMC grant subaward to TMCC which cannot be directed towards release time. Paying a stipend is the only reasonable compensation.  This assignment is a $2,550 stipend.

Application Process

Interested faculty will submit a letter of interest describing special qualifications and background information no later than 5 p.m. on April 27, 2022.

The letter should be addressed to Anne Flesher, Dean of Math and Physical Sciences.  NOTE: Administrative faculty must include a documented plan for separation of the additional assignment work from regular work time.

The Dean will notify applicants of the hiring decision on or before May 4, 2022.
