Description
The Data Science Curriculum Developer will develop course materials, assignments, assessments and the course Canvas site for the DATA 101 course, Introduction to Data Science.
Scope of Work
This is an assignment requiring additional work days/hours outside of regular contract days. This assignment will begin on May 31, 2022, and will end on June 30, 2022. The position will entail approximately 45 hours of work. This assignment is not automatically renewed annually.
Responsibilities and Deliverables
- Develop the course materials, assignments, projects, and assessments for the course per the established Course Objectives, Learning Outcomes and Learning Measures.
- Develop the Canvas site for the program instruction.
- Perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with standards, mission and goals of Truckee Meadows Community College.
- Maintain sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and disabilities of community college students.
- Comply with published college policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean.
Qualifications
Current TMCC faculty (teaching or administrative). One-year experience teaching in mathematics, statistics, or computer science. Experience with curriculum development.
Compensation
3 credits release or stipend

Dean of Math and Physical Sciences

Interested faculty will submit a letter of interest describing special qualifications and background information no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022
The letter should be addressed to Anne Flesher, Dean of Math and Physical Sciences. Note: Administrative faculty must include a documented plan for separation of the additional assignment work from regular work time.

The Dean will notify applicants of the hiring decision on or before May 19, 2022.
