Career and Technical Education Leadership Curriculum Developer

Per the NFA Contract, Article 10, TMCC is announcing to all eligible Academic and Administrative faculty that a need exists for a Career and Technical Education Leadership Curriculum Developer.

Description

The Career and Technical Education Leadership curriculum developer will develop content, assignments, assessments, and labs for 4 new courses for the Career and Technical Education Leadership BAS degree. 

Scope of Work

This is an assignment requiring additional workdays/hours outside regular contract days, including times as needed during Fall and Winter semesters to fulfill duties. This assignment will begin Jan. 4, 2022  and will end May 20, 2022. This additional assignment is not automatically renewed annually. This position is expected to perform 45 hours per course developed for the Spring 2022 semester.

Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Develop course content, assignment, and assessments for the following courses to be delivered in an online asynchronous format:
    • EDCT 301 Career and Technical Education and Leadership Foundations
    • EDCT 302 Instructional Facility Design
    • EDCT 304 Assessment and Instruction in Career and Technical Education and Leadership
    • EDCT 447 Curriculum Development in Career and Technical Education
  • Review and select textbook or learning resource options for each new course.
  • Incorporate course objectives and student learning outcomes for each course and submit for CRC review and approval as needed.
  • Review information with department faculty and staff, as well as industry partners.
  • Other duties agreed to with the Director and/or Dean.

Qualifications

The ideal candidates for this position will meet the following criteria:

  • Current TMCC faculty (teaching or administrative). 
  • One-year full-time teaching experience in a Career and Technical Field or combination of experience and teaching. 
  • Experience with curriculum development.
  • Master’s degree in CTE, Education, Teaching, or other major relevant to the position.  

Compensation

3 credits release or stipend per course (4 courses total). This assignment may be split among applicants as needed.

Reports to

This position reports to the BAS-CTEL Program Development Lead.

Accountability

At the end of the Spring 2022 semester, the developers will provide a written report that details progress and activities to the Development Lead and have courses ready for delivery in Fall 2022.

Interested faculty will submit a letter of interest describing qualifications and background information as relevant to the responsibilities outlined above, a current CV, and indication which course(s) applicant wants to develop. The letter should be addressed to the Dean of Technical Sciences and must be received in that office by 5 p.m. on Dec. 22, 2021. Note: administrative faculty must include a documented plan for separation of the additional assignment work from regular work time.
