Advanced Manufacturing Job Preparation Specialist (Lower-Division Courses)

Per the NFA Contract, Article 10, TMCC is announcing to all eligible Academic and Administrative faculty that a need exists for an Advanced Manufacturing Job Preparation Specialist (Lower-Division Courses).  This position will work with project faculty to implement soft skills curriculum for the advanced manufacturing program as noted below.

Description

The job preparation specialist will oversee, coordinate, and adjust soft skills content for labs, assignments and assessments for the advanced manufacturing department curriculum by embedding soft skills tasks and assignments into current courses. 

Scope of Work

This is an assignment requiring additional work days/hours outside regular contract days, including times as needed during summer to fulfill duties. This assignment will begin July 29, 2020 and will end June 30, 2021 approximately 12 months total working 1.5 hours a week. This additional assignment is grant-funded and not automatically renewed annually.

Responsibilities and Deliverables

  1. Determine and embed soft skills software necessary for assignments and assessments in Advanced Manufacturing courses.
  2. Oversee, coordinate and adjust soft skills content necessary to align with needed lab assignments and assessments that are used in the program. 
  3. Working with instructional designer, create pre-and post-assessments as necessary to be used as comparisons in analytics for student success.
  4. Train staff in any usage necessary along with review of information with department faculty and staff, as well as industry partners. 
  5. Other duties agreed to with the grant team or manager(s).

Qualifications

The ideal candidates for this position will meet the following criteria:

  • Current TMCC experience teaching in Canvas.
  • Two years full-time experience with job and career preparation training.
  • Knowledge of soft skills curriculum and assessments.
  • Experience in soft skills curriculum implementation.

Compensation

$2900.00 stipend.  This assignment is funded by NSF ATE Grant #2000699.

Reports To

This position reports to Pat Jarvis, Curriculum and Instructional Design, Technical Sciences.

Accountability

At the end of this additional assignment, the developer will provide a written report that details progress and activities to Pat Jarvis, Curriculum and Instructional Design, Technical Sciences; and Sarah Rosenbloom, grant manager.
