Life Sciences, Allied Health and Public Safety Division

Science is the foundation of all health-related careers.  The Life Sciences, Allied Health and Public Safety (LAP) Division at TMCC is home to Biology and Community Health Sciences and a variety of certificate and degree programs related to health and safety.  The quality education offered through these programs will prepare you for transfer or for direct entry into the healthcare workforce.

TMCC is part of the Community College Undergraduate Research Initiative (CCURI) and offers you opportunities to get involved in scientific research early in your college career.  Research experience gives you a jump in many career pathways, including  cell & molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, and public health.

Northern Nevada is facing a shortage of healthcare workers as the population grows and ages.  TMCC can prepare you for a job as a Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomist (CLS), Dental Assistant, Dietetic Technician, or Paramedic.  Or you can pursue a path in Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Emergency Management & Homeland Security, Radiologic Technology, or Veterinary Nursing.  Your education can make a difference in the health and safety of our community!
