Meet Our Proctors

TMCC’s proctors are charged with ensuring the integrity of every test they administer. They provide a quiet, orderly and welcoming environment for all test-takers. The proctors maintain equal opportunity during the testing process. Our proctors are vetted and trained to deliver professional, quality customer service, and to follow the best practices of the National College Testing Association.

Helen Scott; Manager, Lead Proctor
Helen was born in Michigan and moved to Reno in 2004. She started college at TMCC in 2008, earning her Associate of Applied Science in 2011, Associates of Arts in 2017, and is now currently working on the Bachelor's degree here at TMCC in Logistics Operations Management. Helen’s favorite class to date is American Sign Language. She started her TMCC career in the Financial Aid Office in 2008. She was hired full-time in 2013 and has enjoyed proctoring ever since. She has five grandchildren who keep her busy. Her passions include gardening, cooking, and making jewelry.

Karen Davidson; Proctor
Karen was born in Orange California, but moved to Reno at an early age. She started college at Yuba college earning a teaching certificate in Early Childhood Development. She worked in the school district in Marysville California for seven years and here in Reno for 12 years after moving back to Reno in 2011. She started here at TMCC in November 2023. She has been married for 32 years and has two children and three grand dogs.

Cheyenne Todd; Proctor
Cheyenne was born in San Jose, California but moved to Sacramento with her family in 2000. She spent most of her life in Sacramento, until she relocated to Reno in 2020. She is currently working towards earning an Associate of Arts in Logistics Management through TMCC. She started as a student worker in the Welcome Center in 2021. She is always ready to help others and loves to spend her free time back home with her family.

Joanna Silva; Proctor
Joanna is a vibrant and passionate individual, who joined the Facilities Department at Truckee Meadows Community College in 2017. Through hard work and dedication, she was able to transition into a supervisory position, where she gained the skills and knowledge to advance in her career goals and become an effective leader. She is currently pursuing her Associate's Degree in Psychology and getting certified as a Proctor with TMCC. She is excited to start a new chapter as an Administrative Assistant with the Testing Services. She looks forward to working with the students and utilizing her bilingual skills to assist the Spanish-speaking community. When Joanna is not at work, she can be found enjoying the outdoors, where her deep connection with nature allows her to find peace and inspiration. Her camera is her constant companion, capturing the beauty of the world and focusing on positivity.
