International Club (I-Club)

Globe

The International Club is a support and social network open to all students (domestic and international), which provides opportunities for everyone from different backgrounds and nationalities to come together. We host multiple events throughout the year which allows the club members to make meaningful connections at TMCC.

Students, faculty and staff are all welcome to learn about different cultures while promoting respect and understanding. Diverse activities are offered all year, including the International Education Week, participation in the regional Night of All Nations, and the Diversity Festival, to name a few.

History

The I-Club is one of the oldest existing clubs at TMCC and is comprised of students of all nationalities and backgrounds. While the I-Club was established as a social support network for international students, it has evolved into a social club with equal membership of international and domestic students. The I-Club provides an environment in which everyone learns about different cultures while promoting respect, understanding, and cultural consciousness.

Activities

The I-Club participates in and plans numerous activities throughout the year based on the interests of the membership. Active members are encouraged to suggest, plan, and/or lead activities.

Activities have included henna tattoos, origami, quick language lessons, Diversity Festival, International Education Week, participation at the UNR Night of All Nations, Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival, Halloween parties, pizza and bowling, hikes, snowshoeing, ice skating, holiday party, movie nights, scavenger hunts, and more!

Participation

If you would like to participate in the I-Club, please contact us. Once we receive your request, we will send you a membership interest form to confirm your participation, and you will be placed on an email list for all activities, events, and meetings. We are always happy to welcome new members. Membership to the I-Club is free, and your membership will allow you to participate in many of our events and activities. While the club will try to sponsor all events, some larger events may require a participation fee.
