Classified Symposium - There's No Place Like Home...Cooking

Join us for a culinary adventure to healthier eating with Chef Craig as he talks about how to include more plant based foods into your menus. Animal protein alternatives are leading more people to a healthier lifestyle. Many people aren't going totally vegetarian or vegan, but they are choosing to replace large parts of their diet with fresh fruits and vegetables as well as protein alternatives. This 90 minute class is for the Tin Man and anyone else interested in their (or their loved ones) hearts! Follow the Yellow Brick Road to the wonderful land of stress reduction. Join resident munchkins, Erin Frock and Sidney Sullivan, for rock painting and knitting/crocheting. Classified Symposium - HeartMath - "You Had the Power All Along"

The Wizard of Oz tells the Tin Man, "Hearts will never be practical until they can be made unbreakable" and tells Scarecrow that brains are "a very mediocre commodity." But years of scientific research shows that the interactions between the heart and the brain have an effect on the psychophysiology of stress and resilience. In this workshop, learn about how the heart's activity affects the brain's functioning and how to connect your heart and brain to improve emotional processing, attention, perception, memory, and problem-solving. Classified Symposium - Lean Systems...You Are Not in Kansas Anymore

Uncle Henry and Auntie Em kept busy counting chickens and supervising the handymen; but could they have been more efficient? The uses of lean systems started in the manufacturing industry but are now found in almost every sector including businesses, healthcare, hospitality, government, and even farming. This session uses a fun, hands-on activity to demonstrate the importance and principles of lean and includes a discussion of how lean systems can be used in any workplace for better productivity and less stress.
