The TMCC Foundation has received a special legacy gift from alumnus Leonard Moser, which will be used to support the expansion of the culinary program.

The TMCC Foundation recently received a special legacy gift from alumnus Leonard Moser, who passed away in September 2018. TMCC was the recipient of a generous annuity that will be used to support the expansion of the Culinary Arts program.

As a former student at TMCC who took many culinary classes, Moser had been employed in Northern Nevada’s hospitality and tourism industry. He named TMCC as the beneficiary of a $160,000 annuity, proudly indicating the gift was to benefit “the college he attended.” Gretchen Sawyer, Executive Director of the TMCC Foundation said, “We were very sad to learn of Mr. Moser’s passing. At the same time, we are greatly appreciative of his gift and feel very honored that Mr. Moser valued his time and education at TMCC and chose to leave this legacy gift to the TMCC Foundation.

To posthumously honor alumnus Leonard Moser and his contributions to the culinary profession, the TMCC Foundation will be applying this gift toward the new culinary facility. He will receive donor recognition within the new building and TMCC Foundation giving clubs.

Legacy gifts make a huge impact at organizations as in many cases they are unrestricted and can provide funding for critical facility and program expansions, special projects, and general program support. Leaving a legacy gift to TMCC is a great way to make a significant gift that will impact and shape the lives of others for years to come.
