Beatles & Beer Foundation Event

On October 18, 2018, TMCC will "Come Together" for a special evening of Beatles music and history to benefit students in the TMCC Culinary and Visual & Performing Arts programs.

The community is invited to join faculty and staff of the College for this unique event in the Student Center on the TMCC Dandini Campus. Tickets for Beatles & Beer can be purchased through the TMCC Foundation.

Student talent will be highlighted throughout the evening with performance of Beatles songs and medleys from the TMCC Concert Band and British fare prepared and served by TMCC Culinary Arts students. Other event highlights include:

  • An interactive presentation by Beatles historian and renowned photographer Ian Wright
  • Live auction of rare early Beatles photography from Ian Wright
  • Silent auction of TMCC student photography
  • Reveal of a special TMCC brew from Great Basin Brewery
  • Emcee "Dead Air Dave" from Reno’s radio station 100.1 KTHX

Visual and Performing Arts Department Chair, Ron Marston, expressed his excitement for the event.

“The Visual and Performing Arts Department is excited to participate in the Beatles & Beer event. It's going to be a really entertaining evening, and we'll have music students participating, and photography students, and graphic arts students working as well, which is awesome.”

Student participation is a key component of this event.

Marston further said that, “Any time we can engage our students in a special event like this it's a win-win. The funds generated will be used to directly help students in our program, and the event itself is an opportunity for some of our students to perform and show off some of their photographic and design skills.”

TMCC's Visual and Performing Arts Department offers a wide variety of courses in art, dance, music and theater with featured programs in graphic communications, music, theater and visual arts.

The TMCC Culinary Arts program offers multiple opportunities for degrees and career advancement. Students in both programs will benefit from community engagement with this event.
