Two continuing students who entered the "Enroll Early Raffle" in January were drawn at random on Jan. 11. And the winners are: Megan Allman-Dellevoet and Nikkolas Irwin.

“It’s a weight lifted off my shoulders continuing to study in the field I’m passionate about, Veterinary Technology,” said Allman-Dellevoet, scholarship awardee. “Thank you so much to Truckee Meadows Community College for this great opportunity.”

Irwin is majoring in computer science.

“Throughout my time at TMCC the school has helped provide the necessary resources for me to be successful,” he said. “I’ve had wonderful instructors and I made it my personal goal to graduate from this institution. This scholarship is another example of TMCC helping me to be successful the final semester at TMCC.”

The raffle was part of the "Register Now, Ask Me How" campaign by TMCC faculty and student service departments who are partnering to better help students with registration questions. Two raffle drawings were held for those students who enrolled early. Continuing students registering for at least six credits by midnight on Jan. 10 were automatically entered in the second raffle to be eligible to win one of two $1,000 Spring 2017 scholarships, sponsored by the TMCC Foundation.

There was also a November raffle event for continuing students who registered during November. Results of that drawing were announced on Dec. 9. Four winners were awarded raffle prizes, including a free three-credit Spring 2017 class (in-state tuition), one semester membership at the Maria C. Sheehan Fitness Center, a $500 TMCC Bookstore scholarship, or an iPod Nano.

Another “Register Now, Ask Me How” activity now underway includes the distribution of fliers listing frequently asked questions, resources and departmental contacts, helping to promote awareness that students can walk up to any administrative faculty or student services staff member and obtain help with enrollment.
