Weighted Student Credit Hours

The Weighted Student Credit Hours dashboard summarizes the first part of TMCC’s state funding: a base formula driven primarily by course completions and measured by Weighted Student Credit Hours (WSCH). Weighted Student Credit Hours are student credit hours multiplied by the “discipline cluster” weight. A subject’s “discipline cluster” is mandated by NSHE, which insures that it is applied consistently across all institutions. Cluster weights vary not only by subject/CIP series, but also by course level (lower, upper, graduate). The WSCH formula does not apply to enrollments of students who earn an F for non-attendance, W (withdrawals), or to credit hours completed by non-Nevada residents.
