The TMCC Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who serve as ambassadors for TMCC, forge partnerships with individuals, businesses and organizations and provide advice and counsel to the College's President and Executive Director of the Foundation.
Jesse Murray, Chair
Jesse Murray is the Vice President of Gas Delivery for NV Energy, overseeing all gas distribution operations for 166,000 natural gas customers in the Reno/Sparks metropolitan area. Jesse has been with NV Energy since 2008. Prior to gas operations, Jesse was responsible for overseeing all of the renewable energy programs offered to NV Energy’s customers throughout Nevada, including private rooftop solar programs. In addition to renewable energy, he has a background in thermal electric generation. Along with serving on the TMCC Foundation Board, Jesse has served on the UNR Chemical and Materials Engineering Advisory Board, and is active in Junior Achievement and coaches Little League baseball. Jesse holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and an MBA from the University of Nevada, Reno. He is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Nevada.
Mindy Lokshin, MD, MSPH, Vice Chair
Dr. Lokshin is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Nevada, Reno Medical School. She received her BA from Johns Hopkins University, her MD from the University of Arizona and her MSPH from the University of Missouri. She left her private practice in family medicine to raise her two sons and has since been very active in the Reno community, serving on the boards of the Reno Philharmonic, the Gifted and Talented Advisory Council to WCSD, and the Education Alliance. She is a founding member for the GT Parent Connection, Alliance for Philharmonic Youth and Parent Leaders for Education.
Yanus Nelson, Treasurer
Yanus Nelson is a senior vice president for Wells Fargo & Company and serves as the Nevada Northern region bank president. In this role, he leads a team of more than 500 branch team members, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and training to provide high-quality service and financial advice to customers in the region. He has also been actively involved in his prior communities serving as vice president of the School District 51 Foundation Board and on the Western Colorado March of Dimes Board. Nelson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Colorado Christian University and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Pepperdine University.
Gigi Chisel, Immediate Past Chair
Gigi Chisel is a native of Reno, and a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno. She received both a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Master's degree in Public Administration from UNR. She also obtained the CCIM designation, conferred upon commercial real estate leaders who have a proven track record of success in the field. Employed by the Lewis Group of Companies for over 30 years, in her capacity as Vice President, Gigi oversees various aspects of the company’s commercial development activities. Gigi resides in Southwest Reno with her husband Robert. Their son James is attending graduate school in California.
Sean is an Associate with ArchCrest Commercial Partners, an independent commercial real estate brokerage firm. Previously, Sean worked for Wells Fargo for 25 years, holding various leadership roles, including being the Northern Nevada area president for 13 years, as well as leading Small Business and Wells Fargo at Work strategies for the Southwest Region covering the states of Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas, Arizona, Utah and Nevada. He is a past Chairman of the Board of the Nevada Bankers Association and the Reno Chamber of Commerce. He has lived in Nevada for 19 years, serving on the boards of various non-profit organizations. He has served on the TMCC Foundation board since 2003. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University in Hayward and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington.
Cary Groth has over 32 years of intercollegiate athletic leadership experience, at Northern Illinois University and University of Nevada, leading both schools to multiple conference championships. At University of Nevada, Cary was instrumental in working with donors to secure and complete over $40 million of facility construction and renovations, as well as helping them become 82% self-funded through increased existing and new revenue streams. She is an active member of Truckee Meadows Community College Foundation Board and the International Women’s Forum. She presents at various local, regional and national conferences and organizations. Cary is a founding principal of The PICTOR Group, an intercollegiate athletics consulting and search firm company.
Dan Lofrese moved to Reno from Rye, New York in June 2015. He has been working for GAMCO Asset Management since 1998 and spent the first 17 years coordinating the efforts of their Reno, NV and Palm Beach, FL offices. Dan was then asked to "move west young man" and now calls Reno home. He is a member of the College of Liberal Arts Advisory Board at the University of Nevada, Reno and belongs to the Rotary Club of Reno. Dan graduated from Fordham University and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at UNR.
Alan Olive, MPH, MHA
Alan Olive is CEO of Northern Nevada Medical Center. Born and raised in Reno, Alan has more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience, specializing in integrated health systems, project management, health plan partnerships, hospital operations, and physician relations. He has served as CEO of Sierra Surgical Hospital in Carson City and Renown South Meadows Medical Center in south Reno. Alan earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Brigham Young University and a Master of Public Health, Hospital Administration and Master of Healthcare Administration from Loma Linda University.
Ann Silver has been the CEO of the Reno + Sparks Chamber of Commerce since 2016, the largest business organization in northern Nevada with 1,870 members that employ over 85,000 residents. Prior to this position, Ann was the Executive Director of J.O.I.N, the WIOA-funded career training organization that serves 13 counties in Nevada and was the Sr. VP & General Manager of Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Ann is a graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and Notre Dame Law School in South Bend, Indiana and maintains Sr. Certification as a Human Resources Professional. She serves on the Governor’s Workforce Development Board, the Governor’s Commission for Women, the Board of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, and the Board of the Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority.
Matt Thornton is a Wealth Management Banking Advisor for U.S. Bank. A relationship manager since 2005, Matt has been employed with U.S. Bank since 2015 and achieved their highest honor of Legends of Possible in 2017. He is a graduate of Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, and is currently working on obtaining his AWMA (Accredited Wealth Management Advisor) designation. Matt and his wife Amanda are the proud parents of three children and believe strongly in giving back to their local community. As an active member of Reno South Rotary and current board member of the Planned Giving Roundtable of Northern Nevada, Matt participates in many community projects to serve the overall Northern Nevada community.
