7. Academic faculty members who teach noncredit or continuing education classes that are not a part of their regular workload will be paid as reflected in the agreements between the hiring supervisor and the faculty member. Faculty shall not be paid for teaching noncredit classes that conflict with their normal contractual obligations. 8. Counseling faculty work thirty-five (35) hours/week with the number of scheduled days determined by the approved academic calendar. Counselors’ schedules are agreed upon by the respective Vice President. 8.2 Online Instruction The college recognizes the growing importance of online instruction, including online teaching as well as any course that has online components. Faculty and staff have invested significant amounts of time to develop courses, online degrees, and certificates. 1. If there is need for a course to be created or modified to support a specific degree or certificate, the college may offer faculty a stipend or release time for development through the negotiated process for special assignments agreed upon in the NFA contract. 2. The Web College Department will work with faculty, Deans, and Directors in the development and support of online courses to include design, approaches to online learning as well as adherence to the Faculty Standards for Online Instruction as approved by Faculty Senate. 3.
