Arian Katsimbrashas had poetry and prose published in previous issues ofThe Meadow . Alan King’spoems have appeared inAlehouse, Audience, Boxcar Poetry Review, Indiana Review, MiPoesiasandRATTLE , among others. A Cave Canem fellow and VONA Alum, he’s been nominated for both a Best of the Net selection and Pushcart Prize. When he’s not reporting or sending poems to journals, you can find Alan chasing the muse through Washington, D.C. — people watching with his boys and laughing at the crazy things strangers say to get close to one another. R. L. Kurtzwas raised in Mansfield Ohio. He graduated from East Carolina University in ’98 with a Masters in Literature. He has traveled extensively around the world and is currently working as Director of an English School in Taiwan. Jim Lamoreuxwas born in Long Beach California in 1949. He was raised in Southern California until 1968 when he graduated from Sunny Hills High School. That year he entered the Army and served there for three years. He was in Vietnam during the Tet of 1969. Jim has been writing ever since grade school. A graphic artist, he has been illustrating his stories ever since he was a child. Currently he has a book of illustrated work titled “Patient 444 and Other Short Stories” offered through the major book vendors. Jim currently lives with his wife Leandra, cat “Suzi” and Amazon Parrot “Patrick” in a home in northern Reno very close to TMCC. Karen Levyis an American-Israeli writer with an M.A. in English, creative writing from California State University where she teaches composition. Her most recent work has appeared inThe Blue Moon Literary & Art ReviewandSo to Speak. “The Stain” is an excerpt from her memoir, My Father’s Gardens. Joanne Lowery’spoems have appeared in many literary magazines, includingBirmingham Poetry Review , Eclipse, roger, Cottonwood, andPoetry East. Her most recent collection is the chapbook, Scything, published by FutureCycle Press. She lives in Michigan. Jake A. Martinez is a student at Truckee Meadows Community College. Dave Malone is the author of two books of poetry, most recentlyUnder the Sycamore (Elder Mountain Press). His poems have appeared in decomP, Elder Mountain, Mid Rivers Review, Red Rock Review, San Pedro River Review, andWord Riot . He teaches part-time at Missouri State University-West Plains. Jerry D.
