In an emergency meeting held on Aug. 20, 2021, the Nevada State Board of Health unanimously approved COVID-19 vaccination requirements for Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) students. This requires all students attending any NSHE institution, including Truckee Meadows Community College, to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
In advance of the Spring 2022 Semester, all students attending classes at TMCC must submit proof they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or submit an allowable medical or religious exemption in order to register for classes.
A completed vaccination series is required. This means students must receive both doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine, or the single dose of Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) COVID-19 vaccine before they can enroll for classes.
Vaccination Exemption Information
Exemptions will only be given for one of the following options:
- Documented medical condition
- Religious belief
- Jump Start students if they are attending classes physically located at their high school only
- Enrolling in fully remote/online courses or distance education
Exemption forms are available from the Nevada System of Higher Education. Please select the appropriate State Board of Health Exemption Form to download, print and acquire the appropriate signature(s).
By completing and submitting an exemption form, the student acknowledges that providing fraudulent or altered documentation may result in disciplinary action up to and including removal from classes or expulsion.
Completed exemption forms should be scanned and uploaded as vaccination proof.
