Admission Procedures
Admission to TMCC's Bachelor of Applied Science in Emergency Management/Homeland Security (BAS-EMHS) Program requires that applicants have obtained an associate level degree prior to admission.
There is an additional prerequisite of EMHS200 ICS/NIMS/EOC, a TMCC lower division course. This course teaches students unfamiliar with or not coming from an emergency response background, the language of Emergency Management/Homeland Security, i.e., Incident Command System (ICS), National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Emergency Operations Centers (EOC).
Note: Applicants coming from an emergency response background with training in the subjects of ICS/NIMS/EOC, who can show evidence of training by certificate, may receive substitution credit for EMHS200.
Step 1: Begin by completing and submitting this online BAS-EMHS Program Application (see below).
Candidates must submit an unofficial transcript showing evidence of an associate level degree or higher. Also, submit any ICS/NIMS/EOC certificates, if applicable. These files must be submitted electronically through this application.
Step 2: Provide proof of minimum qualifications and the following information:
- Application for admission to TMCC.
- Unofficial transcripts of prior college level education showing an associate level degree or higher.
Selection Process
Applicants meeting the minimum requirements listed above will be accepted into the BAS-EMHS Program and notified via email from the program office.
Post Acceptance
Once accepted into the program, you must accomplish the following:
- Satisfy all general College admission requirements.
- Enroll in the program.
- Declare the degree option.
