Coming Summer 2025: NURS 129 - Level 1 - Basic Nursing Skills

Important Note: Completion of this course does not qualify students for state certification.

- Accepted by ADN and RAD Programs as a substitute for NURS 130
- Credits: 2
- Duration: 6-week hybrid format
- Time Commitment: 4 mandatory hours per week, including lab/simulations
Prerequisites:
To enroll in NURS 129, students must have the following:
- An American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) card. No other CPR certification will be accepted. Your card must be valid for the class term and cannot expire during that term.
- One of the following:
- Grade A or B in BIO 190A or BIO 189A
- Current certification as a CMA, EMT, EMTA, Paramedic, or Dental Assistant

After completing the additional requirements provided via email, applicants must contact the CNA Department to obtain permission to register for the course. Enrollment is contingent upon receiving clearance from the CNA Department.
