Artown Exhibit - 2019

Art Exhibits on Display July 19–20, 2019

Truckee Meadows Community College welcomes the Wild Women Artists for a special Artown exhibit. Join us for demonstrations and interactive learning. Bring your curiosity and participate in hands-on activities in bookbinding, jewelry, metalwork, felting, painting, and photography. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn from artisans who have been working for decades in their fields.

The sale includes paintings, handmade books, lino prints, metal sculpture, mixed media, jewelry, fine art photography, and many other surprises the Wild Women Artists are sure to bring.

The Wild Women Artists are a group of thirteen women artists who live throughout Nevada. They work in a variety of media, live in diverse landscapes, pursue individual goals, but come together to mount two group shows each year. The group was founded by Jimmie Benedict in 1995 to bring creative women together and provide a nurturing environment for artistic growth. Over the years, the Wild Women Artists have gained a following as one of the premier artist groups in Northern Nevada.

The artists participating in the July show are Marti Bein, Katherine Case, Susan Church, Kathleen Durham, Gretchen Ericson, Claudia Knous, Donna Jeanne Koepp, Kristen Frantzen Orr, Gail Rappa, Trish Reynolds, Barbara Uriu, and Pat Wallis.

Friday, July 19, 4–8 p.m.: Reception
Saturday, July 20, 10–4 p.m.: Demonstrations
