As a student at TMCC, you have many resources to help with your education. The Learning Resource Center (LRC) houses educational material for the programs and courses offered at the Pennington Applied Technology Center.
Textbooks and other course materials, computers, and supplies like calculators and staplers are all available to you at the LRC.
Textbooks in the LRC
The LRC has copies of some of the textbooks for your classes available for on-site use and some may be checked out for a two-week period. A TMCC student ID or Resource Center card is required to check them out.
The TMCC Bookstore provides information to look up the name of your textbook(s) if you need assistance.
Checking Out LRC Materials
General materials may be checked out and then renewed once for a period of time equal to the original loan period, unless the material has been requested by another person. You may renew materials by phone by calling in with your TMCC ID bar code number. Note: Patrons should return materials to the LRC and not the TMCC Elizabeth Sturm Library.
Unreturned or damaged items may result in a fine equal to the replacement cost.
Reserve materials are items such as books and videos that instructors have placed in the LRC for student use. They are usually related to a particular course. Reserves are for in-house use only and may not be removed from the building.
Reserve materials that are not returned or are returned damaged may result in a fine equal to the replacement cost.
By obtaining a Learning Resource Center account, patrons agree to:
- Have an active TMCC ID or Learning Resource Center card to borrow material.
- Renew or return all material by the due date.
- Read and respond to all notices promptly.
- Inform the LRC of updates to your patron record with all address changes.
- Be responsible for the borrowed materials and notify the LRC if material is lost, stolen or damaged beyond repair.
- Pay any fines or fees for non-return of materials checked out on your patron record.
The LRC has computers available for student use.
Please note that room 108 is designated as a Quiet Study Lab: no talking or use of cell phones is permitted. Headphones must be used if listening to audio.
