Technical Sciences Accelerated Programs

Student Welding

Accelerated Programs offered at TMCC connect you with a regional employer who is seeking newly trained technicians.

These programs are all delivered in a non-traditional format which allows students to earn credentials in about half of the time as opposed to traditional formats.

You can earn a certificate of achievement in either Diesel Technology or Production Technician. Both programs are designed to prepare students for the workforce immediately upon completion.

Diesel Technology classes may also be applied toward other diesel degree programs.

Production Technician Certificate of Achievement

This program is designed to prepare students for entry level employment as a Production Technician. Students will learn and work with automated processes (including robotic work cells), mechanical equipment, quality systems (including some Lean concepts), fluid power, and safety. Students will be offered an opportunity to test for the MSSC Certified Production Technician nationally recognized credential.

Diesel Technology Certificate of Achievement

This one-year, two semester program trains individuals for front-line technician positions servicing, repairing and maintaining over-the-road long-haul vehicles and heavy equipment. The program emphasizes principles of operation, diagnosis, and service procedures using modern diagnostic technology and service equipment. All classes in the certificate program may be applied toward other diesel degree programs.
