About the TMCC Website
Truckee Meadows Community College's (TMCC) Web presence is www.tmcc.edu. It is designed, managed and maintained by the college's Web Services staff.
The TMCC Web presence was established in 1998. Since its inception, there have been five iterations of change, design or re-alignment periods. The current website is a product of a year's worth (or slightly more) of research. Collaboration partners include the public information office (PIO), the Web advisory committee, application services, college Web content providers and you—the visitors. The Web services team in conjunction with the aforementioned contributors will continue to refine the site, expanding content and making revisions based on visitor feedback, research and analysis and best practices in the area of Web development.
Guidelines and Accessibility
The college website has been designed to adhere to the guidelines provided by the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium). Truckee Meadows Community College is committed to providing an accessible Web presence that gives members of the public and members of the college community full access to college information, courses and activities offered publicly through the Web. All pages validate as either XHTML 1.0 Transitional or Strict. Web pages use Cascading Style Sheets (2.1 specification). These pages meet the checkpoints of the Web Accessibility Initiative's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

Navigation/Hyperlinks
As visitors browse through the college's Web presence, a consistent "look-and-feel" and navigation system should be evident. The only time this experience is slightly altered is in the case of custom designed websites outside of the main template model which, therein, will embrace their own "look-and-feel" and uniform navigation system.
