Dr. Rachel Solemsaas

The Vice President of Finance and Administrative Services (VPFA) is the Chief Financial Officer for Truckee Meadows Community College.

The Vice President's office is responsible for the development and administration of the biennium and annual budgets; fiscal analysis and planning; financial reporting; short/long-range forecasting; contract administration; purchasing and audit reviews; facilities management; auxiliary services; and assisting the President in capital planning and development.

The department is made up of several administrative and financial divisions and its operational staff, as well as Budget and Planning, College Bookstore, Accounting Services, Information Technology, and Facilities Operations and Capital Planning.

Mission Statement

The VPFA office promotes student success, academic excellence and access to lifelong learning by providing vision, leadership, planning, and coordination for the fiscal and administrative functions of the College.

  • Ensure high quality and efficient delivery of financial and administrative services to the college.
  • Ensure sound and sustainable financial planning, development and implementation.
  • Effectively lead and serve the talented workforce in the Finance and Administrative division.

Divisions

The following are Division offices under the VPFA:

  1. Budget and Planning
    Includes development, management, monitoring and reporting of the college's financial resources, Auxiliary Services (food service operations, vending operations, reprographics and mailrooms), contracts and risk management.
  2. Accounting Services
    Oversees all functions of TMCC's financial services including: accounts receivable/payable, student accounting system, collections and acquisition of goods and services in compliance with Board of Regents' policies and State of Nevada regulations.
  3. Facilities Operations and Capital Planning
    Ensures adequate maintenance of all the college's facilities and equipment including: buildings, grounds, construction/remodeling, capital equipment and custodial services.
  4. Information Technology
    Provide operations of network/telephone services, desktop computing infrastructure and IT Customer Service operations. Supports TMCC's business/educational environment by providing application development and services, Web services, and media services.
