Business AA FastTrack Support and Outreach Specialist

Per the NFA Contract, Article 9, TMCC is announcing to all eligible Academic and Administrative faculty that a need exists for a/an Business AA Fast-Track Support and Outreach Specialist.

Description

A new 5-week model, fully online, accelerated Associate of Arts in Business program was developed and successfully launched Fall 2023. Support is needed during the 2024–25 academic year to assist in continued recruitment efforts and cohort support.

Scope of Work

The assignment will begin July 1, 2024 and will end June 30, 2025; approximately 210 work hours/year. This additional assignment is not automatically renewed annually.

Responsibilities and Deliverables

As the FASTTRACK Business AA Support and Outreach Specialist you will play a key role in community outreach, student recruitment, and program support. Responsibilities and deliverables will include:

  1. Community Outreach and Engagement
    • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, high schools, and other relevant stakeholders to promote awareness of the Business AA FastTrack program.
    • Participate in outreach events, workshops, and information sessions to engage current and prospective students as well as community members.
  2. Recruitment, Student Support, and Program Support
    • Assist in recruiting interested students to the Business AA FastTrack program by providing information about admission requirements, program offerings, and course enrollment.
    • Review transcripts and/or course history of prospective students to determine eligibility for the Business AA FastTrack degree.
    • Provide guidance and recommendations to current and prospective students regarding program requirements and pathways to completion.
    • Recommend course sequencing and scheduling options to students based on their academic background, program requirements, and personal goals.
    • Prioritize student support:
      • Create and maintain frequent communication and outreach efforts with students
      • Share reminders of important dates and events
      • Ensure timely enrollment and follow-through
      • Remind and encourage students to persist in order to attain their educational goals
      • Ensure overall support and offer resources accordingly
  3. Student Meetings and Orientations
    • Attend various student meetings, orientations, and recruitment events to share information about the Business AA FastTrack program and support students in their academic journey.
    • Serve as a resource and point of contact for students seeking information and assistance related to the Business AA FastTrack program.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will meet the following criteria:

  • Current TMCC employee (Academic or Administrative Faculty or Classified Staff)
  • Not a participant in the compensated Faculty Advising program

Compensation

3 credits of reassigned time per semester or monetary stipend. (Total 6 credits per year or max stipend of $5,712).

Dean of Business and Social Sciences

Note: Administrative faculty must include a documented plan for separation of the additional assignment work from regular work time.
