Center for Teaching and Learning — Assessment Process Assistance

New! The SLOA committee chair and members will be available to assist faculty with the development of student learning outcomes and measures for their courses during the following dates/times:

March 5, 2-3 p.m. in RDMT 211
March 25, 3:30-4:30 p.m. in RDMT 211

The Center for Teaching and Learning can assist faculty with the assessment process in several ways.

  1. Classroom assessment techniques workshops are offered to faculty each semester.
  2. Individual consultation with faculty to plan assessment activities, use classroom data to redesign instruction.
  3. Quick Course Diagnosis. Using highly structured interactive focus groups in the classroom taking 15-20 minutes, the CTL can provide instructors with a confidential, valuable report for focused change at any time. Whether to improve student learning, evaluate experimental methods or to identify problem areas in text or assignments, the Quick Course Diagnosis can provide feedback on classes and programs. Interested instructors can request the time, date and specific questions.
  4. Books on assessment are available in the CTL library and online resources are listed on the CTL Web site.
