VUB Program Information

Your Door to Opportunity

The Veterans Upward Bound Program (VUB) is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education and offered through the Student Services and Enrollment Management office at Truckee Meadows Community College. The program was originally funded in 1989, providing an educational opportunity for veterans to acquire and develop the academic skills, confidence, and information necessary for success in post-secondary education.

Services

• Academic classes in math, English, science, computers, foreign language and study skills
• Individual testing and assessment
• Counseling, academic advisement and career planning
• Academic tutoring
• Information and assistance in financial aid, admissions and college orientation
• Educational and cultural field trips
• Assistance in obtaining a GED
• Referrals to and coordination with additional TMCC and community services
