Veterans Upward Bound Program

Start your college experience off right with Veterans Upward Bound: Serving Veterans at TMCC since 1989!

Veterans Upward Bound is a free educational program for qualified veterans. The program is sponsored by Truckee Meadows Community College and funded by the U. S. Department of Education. It is designed to assist veterans in preparing for success in college and other post-secondary training. The program serves honorably discharged veterans who meet the eligibility requirements.

Veterans Upward Bound offers a wide array of services and activities to meet the individual educational needs and aspirations of veterans. The program provides:

• Counseling, advisement and college skills development
• Individual assessment and career planning
• Academic classes for math and English skills improvement
• Academic tutoring
• Assistance in obtaining a GED
• Information and assistance with financial aid, admissions,college orientation
• Referrals to additional college and community services
