Chapter 1606 – Montgomery GI Bill – Selected Reserve Educational Assistance Program

This is your application for educational benefits. Before completing the form, please fully read the form's "Information and Instructions" pages. Also, please read each question carefully before answering it! It is extremely important that you answer questions accurately.

The following clarification of some questions may be helpful:

Question 10: Do not include any prior use of the military tuition assistance program when you consider your answer to this question.

Question 12c: Enter the name of your chosen TMCC program. Following this information, write any higher level of education you will be seeking in your chosen field, whether it is a certificate, associate, baccalaureate, master's or doctorate level education.

Questions 17a through 17c: Need not be answered.

Form D.D. 2384

You must provide a copy of your D.D. Form 2384, notice of basic eligibility, which shows you are entitled to VA educational benefits. You can obtain this form from your unit education officer. If you have a question about your eligibility, contact the Department of Veteran Affairs at 1 (888) 442-4551 for assistance.

If you are eligible for the MGIB Guard kicker, please include a copy of your contract.

Additional Information

  • Monthly Verification: In order to receive payment, you must notify the VA to verify your continued enrollment on the first day of each month. Go online or call 877-823-2378. You will receive payment approximately 7- 10 days later. Your VA File number is your Social Security Number.
