The Tutoring and Learning Center has tutors available to help in languages, mathematics, science, writing and more.

Writing Tutoring

The goal of the TMCC writing tutoring service is to help students become effective, self-sufficient writers in their academic work. Well trained tutors discuss, inquire, and collaborate with students on brainstorming, thesis statements, outlines, research techniques, MLA/APA documentation formats and rough drafts for all types of writing assignments.

Other Programs in the TLC

  • ESL Resource Center — If you are taking ESL classes at TMCC, we have tutors trained to help you in understanding the English language and improve your grammar and sentence skills.
  • DRC Tutoring Program — If you are registered with the DRC, ask about our tutors trained to coach and guide you in reading, writing, and college study skills.
  • Workshops — The TLC offers workshops to help you improve your study skills.
  • Supplemental Instruction (SI) Program for Math — Specifically for math 126, the TLC offers group study sessions for students taking this course. A trained SI leader will assist you in understanding the material in a group environment.
  • TI-83 Calculator Rental Program — The TLC has TI-83 calculators that can be rented for $20/semester.
