Subject Tutoring

The Tutoring and Learning Center has tutors available to help with biology, chemistry, foreign language, mathematics, writing, and so much more! Check availability and/or make an appointment with one of our tutors today!

Writing Tutoring

The TMCC Writing Center is a free tutoring service for students who want help at any stage of the writing process, from brainstorming to revising. Our peer tutors focus primarily on global issues, such as content, organization, and tone, and with time permitting, they will cover local issues, including grammar, punctuation, and mechanics. To schedule an appointment with a writing tutor, click the "Schedule Free Tutoring" link once logged in to MyTMCC and select Writing Center from the drop-down menu. If you just need to brainstorm or have a paper that is less than three pages, you will only need a 30-minute appointment; for longer papers, please schedule a one-hour appointment.

Other Programs in the TLC

  • ESL Resource Center — If you are taking ESL classes at TMCC, we have tutors trained to help you in understanding the English language and improve your grammar and sentence skills.
  • Workshops — The TLC offers workshops to help you improve your study skills.
  • Supplemental Instruction (SI) Program for Math — SI is offered for Math 126, 127, 176, and 181. The TLC offers group study sessions for students taking this course. A trained SI leader will assist you in understanding the material in a group environment.
  • TI-83+ Calculator Rental Program — The TLC has TI-83+ calculators that can be rented for $20/semester.
