Tutoring and Learning Center Policies
- During the fall and spring academic semester, students are allowed to make up to two hours of tutoring per subject area per week, and no more than one hour per day.
- During the summer terms, students are allowed to make up to three hours of tutoring per week, and no more than one hour per day.
- Students must be enrolled in the course for which they want to receive tutoring.
- We only tutor students in TMCC classes, this includes TMCC high school. We do not tutor for the ACCUPLACER Placement Exam or for UNR classes.
- ALL students must know their TMCC username and password to use the TLC, whether they are dropping in for one question, using the space for homework or making an appointment.
- Math tutoring is now by appointment. The TLC will still have one to two math tutora available for drop in. Drop in tutoring is reserved for students with one or two questions. For more than two questions, you will be asked to make a one-on-one tutoring appointment.
- Biology 190, 223, 224 and 251 tutoring is held in RDMT 310.
- The TLC has limited study space available for those students who wish to just work on homework and not make an appointment.
- If students want to bring a study buddy to their appointment there are two ways to do this:
- The students can make back-to-back appointments and come together for the full time, if back-to-back appointments are available;
- Students may bring their study buddy to their session. The tutor will need a verbal agreement from the student who made the appointment and the study buddy that it is OK for the two to share the session.
