Welcome to the TMCC Skills Center

The TMCC Skills Center is a self-paced learning environment where students can develop the skills to place into Math 95 and Math 96. The Skills Center provides Web-based and/or text-based education, supplemented by lectures and special assistance from math instructors assigned to the Skills Center.

What is Required of Skills Center Students?

  • Students are required to attend a weekly, 10 minute meeting with their assigned instructor.
  • In addition to weekly meetings, students should plan on working with the online program at least 10 hours per week to be successful (15-25/hours per week for students attending Summer or Winter Session).

How do I enroll?

Online enrollment is available through MyTMCC.

  • Sign in to MyTMCC and click on "Student Center" then click on "Search" or "Search for Classes"
  • Enter the term you are registering for, then enter SKC for course subject, and click on "Search"
  • Search results will display SKC 80 and SKC 85; it is important that you add both classes into your shopping cart at the same time to complete enrollment. Do not enter the classes separately.
  • Once registered, you are required to set up your weekly instructor meeting. The online scheduler will be available 05/16/14-05/23/14 for Summer students and 08/04/14-08/21/14 for Fall students. After these dates you much visit the Skills Center in person to set up a weekly meeting time. If you do not attend the first week of class you will be dropped.
  • After scheduling your weekly meeting time, follow the instructions on how to register, then log in to ALEKS to take your online diagnostic test. Your test will be used to create an individualized program of study.
