iconWhat is a DARS report and where can I get one?

A DARS report is a Degree Audit Reporting System report. This report lists the classes you must take for your degree program. Courses already taken are considered in the report, and the classes you still need to complete the degree are listed. These reports are available from admissions and records or through a TMCC counselor. You may print the request for a DARS. Unofficial DARS reports are also available on MyTMCC. iconDo I need to have a DARS report completed to override/waive a prerequisite?

No. Simply send an unofficial copy of your transcript, showing that the course has been completed with a passing grade, to the appropriate department.

iconHow can I obtain a DARS report?

Your DARS is available online by logging into MyTMCC. Once logged in, student's can run "what-if" audits with the interactive DARSWeb application.

iconI am a fully admitted student and currently registered, however, I do not have a DARS report online.

Please make sure you meet the criteria for running DARS reports. You must have attended within the last year, have a valid degree declared and a catalog year that is no more than five years old. If all of the above meet the criteria, please contact us for assistance.

iconI have accessed my DARS report online and have some questions about what it says. Where do I go or who do I contact?

You may contact counseling or advising to clarify or verify the content of your report.

iconI have accessed my DARS report online; do I still need to see my advisor?

Yes, DARS reports do not replace advising. DARS are generated to aid you and your advisor in planning your degree program, and eventually, to certify your graduation.

iconI have changed my major; will my DARS report be affected?

Applicability of courses (including the general education courses) you have taken may change when you change your major. Some courses may not apply to the new degree program. Please submit a major declaration card to admissions and records, if you have not already done so.

iconWhat is a DARS report (degree audit)?

A DARS report shows which courses a student has taken and how those courses are applied toward their degree program.

iconWhat is a Degree Audit Request (DARS)?

The Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS) produces an automated report (degree audit) that matches the courses a student has completed-or transferred from other institutions-with the requirements of a particular academic degree program. The DARS helps students plan future coursework by identifying requirements that have not been fulfilled. It shows how completed TMCC courses, courses in progress, and transfer courses may apply toward fulfillment of the degree requirements.

The degree audit report is an internal TMCC document; it should be used as a tool to assist the student and their counselor or advisor in planning future coursework. It also verifies that once a student has applied for graduation, they have met all of the graduation requirements for the college as well as their degree program.

DARS also fulfills a complementary role: it aids the college in articulating coursework from other institutions. As a student's transcripts are received, DARS decides how their coursework should be accepted at TMCC based on academic policy and course equivalencies input by the DARS staff.

iconWhen and how will my transfer work appear on the audit?

Any transfer course work accepted for a fully admitted student will appear only when a student requests a DARS. All DARS requests must be submitted to the admission and records office.

iconWho decides how courses will transfer?

Transfer courses are evaluated for general transferability by the admissions and records evaluators. Accepted courses at the university level may or may not apply toward a student's degree program.

iconWill all of my accepted transfer courses apply toward my degree program?

Applicability of transfer courses toward a student's degree program is determined by their respective departments. Please contact your advisor for transfer course applicability. TMCC will only accept a maximum of 45 credits in transfer.
