Register Now! Awareness Brief: The Counterintelligence and Cyber Threat to Higher Learning

Join us at the brown bag luncheon for a talk on cyber threats and trends in the business and education sectors. FBI special agent Sean Jolley will detail how you can minimize cyber attacks on the job and during personal use. Agent Jolley will also address the counterintelligence threat and how it relates to the cyber threats.
This session is open to all TMCC faculty, staff and students.

Sean Jolley joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a Special Agent in 2008, and was assigned to work in the Las Vegas Division - Reno Resident Agency in 2009. While in Reno, SA Jolley has worked both National Security and Criminal cases. His primary focus over the past six years has been Counterintelligence. Special Agent Doran Anders also covers Conterintelligence issues.

Register Now! Fostering and Promoting Open Educational Resources on Your Campus and Beyond

The Maricopa Millions project is saving students money and creating greater access to learning materials using open educational resources (OER). This presentation will provide details on how a very large community college district is developing awareness of OER to faculty and students, increasing use of OER, and documenting critical measures. The presenters will share how the targeting of developmental education courses and high enrollment classes ensure students have the learning materials necessary on day one of class (or before) without having to break the bank.

This workshop provides members of the campus community the opportunity to increase their cultural awareness and openness to issues facing those of the GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender) community. It includes interactive exercises that explore individual views; has some lecture presentation to dispel myths surrounding GLBT individuals; and gives time for reflection and best practices in working to create a safe space in the classroom, in offices, and in the social areas on campus.
