How do I contact the TMCC Police Department?

For emergencies, dial 911.

Non-emergency crime reports should be made to the TMCC Police Department by calling 775-674-7900. To report a crime anonymously, contact Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.

Where is the TMCC Police Department located?

The TMCC Police Department is located on the Dandini Campus, in the Red Mountain Building, Room 243.

How do I report a crime at TMCC?

If it is an emergency, call 9-1-1.

For all non-emergency calls, call the TMCC Police Department.

Does the TMCC Police Department provide police safety escorts?

Yes, an officer from the TMCC Police Department will provide a safety escort to your car and/or a building. Just contact the TMCC Police Department and an officer will meet you at your location.

If I lock my keys in my vehicle, will the TMCC Police Department unlock my vehicle for me?

No. The TMCC Police Department cannot attempt to unlock your car. Only in the event of an immediate emergency (i.e. child locked in car, etc.) will an officer attempt to safely gain entry into your vehicle.

Will a police officer help me with a disabled vehicle?

Yes. If you are on campus property and you only need routine assistance such as a jump-start. For advanced mechanical issues, an officer will assist you with contacting an automotive repair or towing service.

Does the TMCC Police Department handle "Lost and Found"?

No. Found items should be taken to TMCC Lost and Found, which is located in the Dandini Campus, Red Mountain Building, Room 315.

Exceptions to this include, but are not limited to: drugs, drug paraphernalia, large sums of money, weapons, etc. In any of these instances, please contact the TMCC Police Department immediately.

What should I do if involved in a minor accident on campus?

If blocking traffic, move the vehicle(s) to the nearest safe location. You may exchange information with the other driver, obtain full name, address, vehicle insurance and vehicle description information. You should obtain information from any witness. A TMCC Police Officer will respond if you are uncomfortable with the exchange of information process.

Does the TMCC Police Department offer a fingerprinting service?

Yes. The TMCC Police Department provides a free fingerprinting service to TMCC students and employees. Please call or stop by the police department to set up an appointment. When you come to your appointment, you will need to bring the appropriate fingerprint cards and valid identification.

How can I get a copy of a police report?

If you need a copy of a report, please contact the TMCC Police Department by telephone or in person during business hours (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.). Reports are only released to authorized individuals.
