Orientation
Orientation
Truckee Meadows Community College offers several options for orientation.
New Student Orientation
New student orientation is a 90-minute interactive session designed to familiarize you with important information that you will need to start college, the academic and social transition into college and an introduction to TMCC student services.
Orientation with academic advisement is a four-hour session that combines new student orientation, a workshop with our academic advisement professionals and help with registering for classes.
Online Orientation
We designed online orientation as another option if you do not have enough hours in your day. We want to make sure you get the key orientation points even if you cannot visit one of our college sites.
College Jump Start Orientation and Priority Registration
College Jump Start orientation with academic advisement is a four and one-half hour session for first-time degree seeking students attending TMCC for fall 2010. Students who sign up to attend this session will receive priority registration for fall semester classes. If the student has an ACCUPLACER score of Reading of 55+ and Arithmetic score of 34+ the student will sign up and take a full-time schedule of English, math, elective and college success skills course their first semester at the college. Students with an ACCUPLACER score of Reading 1-54 or Arithmetic score 1-33 will be required to enroll part-time for the fall semester.
