Orientation at TMCC
Welcome to Truckee Meadows Community College!
Choosing to pursue higher education is a carefully thought out decision and we applaud you for making such a commitment. You have an exciting journey ahead of you as you work to achieve your educational goal at Truckee Meadows Community College.
Getting the right information about strategies to help you succeed is important to keep you moving forward on the path to student success, academic achievement and graduation. To begin, TMCC offers two valuable options to satisfy the orientation requirement for new students:
A fast-paced three-hour session that combines new student orientation with a group advisement workshop. If you are a new degree-seeking student and live within driving distance of TMCC (50 mile radius), you must attend an in-person orientation and academic advisement workshop. During the interactive orientation presentation you will discover student success strategies, be introduced to student technology, receive important financial aid information, learn about college support services and watch an informative video about college locations. You will also learn about college requirements and we will assist you in registering for your classes.
This format is designed for students who do not live within driving distance of TMCC and are unable to participate in an in-person orientation and academic advisement workshop. Important: Upon successfully completing the online orientation, out-of-state and long distance students must contact the advisement office to receive instructions on how to complete the required enrollment step for academic advisement.
