Dietetic Technician Program

Program Goals and Objectives


Provide theoretical and practical foundations to adequately prepare students to be entry-level dietetic technician practitioners.

  • Over a 5-year period, 70% of graduates trained at TMCC will successfully pass the CDR exam on their first attempt.

Provide an academic program that establishes high expectations and reflects standards appropriate to dietetic practice.

  • 75% of graduates/completers or transfer degree students will be employed within the field or continuing their education within 1 year of graduating/completing.
  • 50% of students will complete the AAS or AS degree for dietetic technician within 3-4.5 years of declaring the major (3 years for AAS degree and 4.5 years for the AS degree).
Provide a program that is highly responsive to student and community needs.
  • Over a 5-year period, 90% of students will indicate they are satisfied with the quality of training they received at TMCC.
  • Over a 5-year period, 80% of graduates/completers will indicate they were satisfied with the quality of education and training they received at TMCC.
  • 80% of employers will rate TMCC graduates as adequately prepared as entry-level practitioners.
